GlobeMed Group has won the prestigious “Third Party Administrator” award at the annual MENA IR Insurance Awardsevent. The winners were announced on the evening of February 1, 2017, at a gala dinner at the Ritz-Carlton DIFC, Dubai, UAE.


Mr. Ziad Kharma, Vice-President for Actuarial Services, received the award on behalf of GlobeMed Group. Congratulating the team members on this success, Mr. Z. Kharma expressed his pride for this achievement, stating that this award is a distinguished recognition for the GlobeMed group, which will reinforce the will of GlobeMed to provide further Solutions and creative services to its clients and their members.


The event, organized by the prestigious MENA Insurance Review Magazine, honored GlobeMed Group for providing innovative and pioneer services and solutions that cater to the needs of its clients, using the latest technological advancements in the Healthcare Benefit Management sector. Throughout 2016, the Group introduced solutions to enhance automation and its expert system dedicated to automated issuance of the coverage decisions, aiming at processing the largest number of claims without any complications.


Subsequent to celebrating its Silver Jubilee crowning twenty five years of achievements, GlobeMed Group adds this award today, to its growing list of achievements having won the “Medical administrator” award in 2014 and “TPA of the Year” in 2015 also in Dubai, a testament to the collective efforts that pushed GlobeMed Group to assume its leadership role, expanding to 12 countries in the MENA region.

GlobeMed Syria has participated in the Medical management conference that was held in Latakia in 20/10/2016. The conference was hosted by the Health Directorate of Latakia with the professional scientific institution in Afamia hotel.

And the purpose of this conference was to focus on Medical Waste and how to manage and recycle it in each governorate.

Managing medical waste, and the insurance scheme and its threats in Syria and the importance of the supportive roles of companies in continuation the insurance procedures.  

In addition to Health Facilities Management and partnership law between public sector and private sector and the implementation in the ministry of health.

GlobeMed Syria was one of the participating companies in this conference in addition to presence of the managers of professional scientific institution and a crowd of doctors and pharmacists.

GlobeMed Syria participated in Rebuild Syria exhibition which aimed to engage the largest number possible of local and international companies in rebuilding Syria through presenting their products and services (human resources, facilities, and raw materials) to use them in repairing some buildings, and structuring new ones which could give some support to improve the current situation. The exhibition was inaugurated by the Ministry of Public Works, Mr.Hussien Arnous, in the fairgrounds, Damascus, from September 7th -11th 2016, with a participation of some Embassies , foreign and Arabic companies.

Out of its social responsibility towards young Syrians, GlobeMed has participated in SIUS exhibition for higher education and training that was sponsored by the minister of higher education Dr. Aref Al-Nadaf, and was held in Dama Rose Hotel from 21-23 August- 2016, SIUS is a specialized exhibition targeting undergraduate education and training with public and private universities, institutes of the Ministry of Higher Education and Tourism participated.

GlobeMed has offered many training opportunities to students from different majors and universities, and job opportunities for seniors.

It is with great pleasure to announce that after extended negotiations between the United Insurance Company (UIC) and GlobeMed Syria, a contract was finally signed between both parties on Wednesday, July 15th.

GlobeMed Syria is now the leading company against the six competitors in the Syrian market. The agreement that was apprehended makes UIC the 12th company GlobeMed Syria is serving out of the 13 in Syria. Both companies are looking forward to present the best healthcare services that will develop the Syrian market.

As per the agreement, GlobeMed Syria will provide the UIC with many advanced tools and services such as underwriting and policy administration, providers’ network management, approvals and claims processing, settlement to providers, along with marketing support.

The Syrian Arab Red Crescent is dedicating its efforts to help the Internally displaced people of the Syrian crisis in all humanitarian aspects in order to provide different kinds of assistance: (Child protection, Food and non-food kits distribution, medical, vocational training, psycho-social support and social care) for all people who are living in Syria in their different ages.

Our commitment to social responsibility stems from the belief that we are a part of the communities we serve, making us as committed to Corporate Social Responsibility as we are dedicated to providing the best in healthcare management.

As an initial step in our cooperation with SARC, GlobeMed Syria has offered a training room at its premises to be fully at SARC’s Child Protection Department's disposal. It was first utilized as they held an orientation for their new volunteers.

We have the pleasure to announce that we have published GlobeMed Syria’s third Statistical Bulletin which bulletin features a study about common surgeries and C-Section rates generated from the claims made by GlobeMed Syria’s portfolio of adherents which have reached a number of around 321,000 adherents in 2012. The statistics were prepared by GlobeMed Ltd.’s Actuarial Department and was reviewed, translated and published by GlobeMed Syria’s team.

As part of GlobeMed’s continuous efforts to be the pacesetter in the field of Third Party Administration sector, GlobeMed Syria announced today that it has signed an agreement with the National Insurance Company (NIC) in Syria.


The cooperation between GlobeMed Syria and the National Insurance Company will enhance and offer thebest healthcare services to the Syrian market through the joint efforts of both companies.

GlobeMed Syria will provide to the National Insurance Company (NIC), many advanced tools and services such as underwriting and policy administration, providers’ network management, approvals and claims processing and settlement to providers on behalf of the National Insurance Company. In October 2012, a ceremony was held in the purpose of honoring GlobeMed’stop providers of the year 2011. The ceremony took place at Four Seasons Hotel in the Halabi Restaurant over dinner, and was attended by figures from the health and the insurance sectors, and of course administrative staff of GlobeMed Syria. The honorees received crystal trophies as a symbol of gratitude for their distinctive efforts as professional cooperative service providers to GlobeMed adherents.
